About the Military Power
Sources Consortium
Who We Are
The Military Power Sources Consortium (MPSC) was formed in July 2022, as a non-profit dedicated to representing the needs of the entire life cycle of the domestic military power production base. The Military Power Sources Consortium has been in existence for over 15 years, starting out as the NDIA Thermal and Reserve Battery Committee. Prior to the launch of the Consortium, it operated as the Military Power Sources Committee (MPSC) under the NDIA.
MPSC is a public benefit member NAATBatt. In January 2023, the Military Battery Committee of NAATBatt was launched and is lead by the MPSC.
MPSC Mission and Goals
The mission of the Military Power Sources Consortium is to provide a forum for its members to share information and develop a collective voice on issues related to preserving and enhancing the domestic design, development and manufacture of energy generation and storage systems, both renewable and non-renewable, and their components for the Department of Defense.
The overarching goals of the MPSC are:
- Provide a unified voice for the issues and challenges of the domestic military production base to DoD, DOE, and other industry groups
- Recommend solution to the issues and challenges
- Ensure industry representation from small and large businesses, and traditional and non-traditional defense contractors
- Bring together academia, industry, and DoD
- Promote networking of the membership and collaborators
- Provide interaction (and clarity) with members of DoD
